touch-up tuesday

This picture of Collin was so fun to edit! I ran only 1 or 2 actions for each example. Pretty easy! I think all the actions below are self-explanatory and I processed them in Photoshop CS4.

For the examples above, here's a screenshot of how I did it. It's WAY too easy!
I discover new things in Photoshop literally every day, and this time I learned how to run a color curves adjustment. I use curves all the time, but I've only used the RGB channel. I never bothered to click on the drop-down menu. There you can select a specific color channel, (red, blue or green) and run an adjustment on that color only. Super cool!

I choose the "red" channel.

Just drag the line up to form a curve, and voila! Done in two seconds! :-)

OK, so I got a little carried away with the purple sky, but I wanted to show you some of the cool effects you can acheive. There are hundreds of ways to process a picture, and these were a few of my favorite examples.

Which one do you like best?

Edit: I just re-read my explanation of the screenshots, and if you're not familiar with CS4, it sounds really confusing. It's not! You're literally clicking on the red line and dragging it upwards. That's it. You can drag it any which way you want. There's no right or wrong. (Thank goodness!) :-)

I personally like the soft light +fingerpaint the best. I edit with CS4 too!

I use PhotoStudio. I don't have any actions, but I do have levels adjustments. I'll have to try playing with them! :)
