I'm going to switch it up a little this week, and start with my edit. It's not a shot that's going to make the scrapbook, but I wanted to include it to show what can be done with a reeeeeally bad SOOC.
Here's my edit:
Do you suppose the Canon 5D Mark II can take bad pictures?
Yep, it sure can.
Check out my SOOC:
Horrible! When I got my new camera, I truly, truly thought I would never get a shot like this again. I would visit photographers' websites that used the 5D Mark II, and their pictures were phenomenal. I thought for such a pricey camera, my pictures would look just like theirs. At first, I was so disappointed! It doesn't matter what type of equipment you have; if you expose it wrong or white balance it wrong...it's going to look like this.
Sometimes I feel the pressure not to post shots like this. You all give me such amazing, positive, wonderful feedback, and I don't want to disappoint. Yes, I take bad shots. Come visit my recycle bin, and you'll feel wonderful! :-)
What I did:
Aly's Basic Boost
PW's wamer action
soft light 35%
TRA's select-o-pop
Coffee Shop baby powder (Livia's cheek only)
MCP's burn tool (light vignette)
You can't take a horrible shot and make it perfect, but you can certainly make it better.
I tried a few hazy, vintage actions too. The two I liked best ended up looking very similar. Do you have a preference? They are from completely different action sets (both free), and I thought it was interesting how alike they looked. The right one is my favorite; a little more warm and peachy.
Make sure to link to your touch-up Tuesday post instead of your home page, and happy editing! ♥

I love that photo! The first edit is awesome, and the vintage edits are great too!!
Interesting to know that excellent cameras can still produce not so great results. I love the peacy-er edit on the right best!
Awesome, these are GREAT--and the bubble one is REALLY cool. :)
Great edits! I agree, I like the one on the right a little better.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who sometimes needs a little editing assistance :-)
The vintage edits are beautiful (prefer the one on the right, too!), but I absolutely adore your first edit! I love the colors and the clarity in that one!
This is why I heart your blog. Not only do you take wonderful eye candy, but you're always willing to help others, all with grace. : )
{PS THANK YOU! I found the email you sent me regarding a question I had asked you. It got lost in the shuffle, but I so appreciate it! : ))
She's too adorable. You really dress her so nicely Karli. Great edits - I love them all!
I also prefer the edit on the right, I like how it's just a tiny bit more contrasty. I always enjoy seeing how other photographers crop.
I would be curious to see a 100% of her face, how did your 5DII do with noise in the shadowed areas of her skin there after raising the exposure? Is your sooc RAW?
I've considered playing along. But I'm so new to RAW and I'm aware that I have some serious issues eyeballing my WB. Maybe in a few weeks!
My little girl is always running around with a rock in her hand too! Your photo is so sweet, definitely worth saving.
Adorable! I really like your first edit. It is so bright and sharp.
I'm so new to all things photography so I'm definitely no expert, but I love the first edit. But then I think the first shot is so cute anyway! I love how I feel like you can totally get a good idea of her personality in the picture.
I love your first edit!
And the one on the right is my fav, too. The grass looks greener. :)
I'm glad you saved it - it's so cute! And I'm glad I'm not the only one with a *lot* of discards. ;)
Really like the first edit. Great save for a cute picture! My fave vintage is the one on the right. Yay for *free* actions!!!!
Your photos are awesome! Love her outfit, so cute!

I'm pretty jealous of your camera but your edits are beautiful...as always.
I love the first edit. So cute! This is my first time on your blog. I love your honesty about your camera and how every camera can take a not so perfect shot!
I am an aspiring photographer and I appreciate honest photographers who share before and afters because if we are all honest with each other...we edit our pictures and that is what really brings in the wow factor. I like them both but, the after is truly gorgeous and soft!! Thanks for the step by step....makes me realize I need to think outside the box a bit more with my editing! Awesome!
Hey ive always love vintage photos they always catch my eyes. I downloaded new actions that have that feel and Im in love I love suttle but good edits that make the photo even better, you do so well at that :-)!
Okay, I lied...I snuck one in there...just for you.
I love your first edit! It made the photo bright and I never woulda knew it wasn't SOOTC! It's very natural! Good editing!
She is adorable and thanks for sharing your post processing tips, I love to keep learning new tricks! :)
I love the shot and the first edit is my favorite!! She's a doll!! First time I entered. I just found you! I did a silhouette.

Everyones edits are beautiful. I am very impressed with everyone. I am new at the photo challenges and I am enjoying them!
This was so incredibly helpful. So many of my photos turn out with that blech dark (hmmm, maybe I ought to remember I have a white balance button), and I have the hardest time lightening them up - great edits!
The Coffeee Shot Vintage is the best, but little Livia looks adorable in all of them.
