a few of the goo

Well, candid certainly wasn't on the menu today. My little goo-ball, I love this kid so much! I was happy with some of the shots I took of the Tornado yesterday, so I thought I'd try again. Clearly my technique doesn't work the same on a middle child.

I caught Drew at the kitchen table doing some fake homework, so I whipped out the camera.

We started out good. Not candid, but good.

Um.......no.

So I pretty much had to deal with this for the next 15 minutes.

Bwah ha ha ha!!! Gotcha!

OK, we're on the right track... remaining hopeful...

Yep, it's over. Now we get to play the blinking game. Fun, and not frustrating at all. (You know, when your child tries to blink in synch with the shutter).

I'm working on character building this year so it's all good (insert similar non-obnoxious statement that a 36 year old might say).

Well, candid or not, this is the real Drew. So I think I'll count these pictures as a success. This is his true personality, and I think it shined (shone?) through! ;-)

Hope everyone had a great Thursday! ♥♥

These are great! I really love that last one - handsome guy you got there!

Guess he wasn't gonna fall for my "bird" trick in the house, huh? ;-)

Ha! Good for you for sticking with it for more than a minute! I give up after a minute or so of them not even remotely looking at me or being still for even 1/200,000th of a second!

He kills me. I could adopt him - he'd fit right in. Although, I guess he's already my "nephew"... right?? ;)

These are fantastic...but I would expect nothing less. You have such talent!

You know, the biggest compliment I get from people when I photograph their kids is when they tell me I captured the child's personality. You definitely captured personality!

okay I love his eyes WOW! and that second pictures is my favorite. (I learned a trick about trying to get them not to blink. I dont know if it will work for when they are purposely doing it but any who I will share... have them close their eyes and count down 3-2-1- OPEN and then wait another second and click. works every time. I normally do this for a large group.)

See, look at you rocking it already!! You are going to do just find at portraits!!:). He is so cute. Love the last pic especially! Question: You design your own blog right? I need help with mine. I can't seem to get the layout thingy to load on google so I'm stuck with Fall leaves and our trees don't even have leaves on them here! lol. Any tips? How much could I pay you to fix mine for me?? ;-) I love your header pictures!

I don't know WHAT you were talking about with your "bleh" portrait shots!!! 'Cause woman, every single portrait I see on here is A-Mazing. :)

The blinking game is too funny! - though probably not while you're taking the pictures. I think your pictures of Drew came out fabulously. I love his small smirk in the last one; classic. Hope your week was fantastic!

I think these are great! I love how bright his eyes are. Sorry it's been a while since I've been around. I'm behind. Again. :)

These are a success because you captured your son's personality! These images will be much more special than any posed shot you might have captured.

Thanks Karli for your comment on my photos. So far, all of my pictures have been SOOC. I currently don't have any software.

Oh I lOVE the last one! These are just sweet. He's so handsome. Great job!!!

His eyes are so pretty! Are they greenish blue? That's what I'm seeing ;) I love the shots Karli! Idk if the rule is your OWN photos look better to others than you (kidna like food is better when someone else cooks it) but I never see any flaws in your photos ;)
