the walk to the castle

Hello everyone! If you wrote me an email or left a comment while we were in Florida, thank you so much! It made me ridiculously happy that people were following along as we travelled. :-)

One thing I embraced this year was having crowds of people in my photos. (Good thing since it was Spring Break at Disney, right?) Last year it was like "could you please get your big bald head out of my photo of the castle?" Or I would wait for eleventy hundred people to cross in front of me so I could get the perfect shot. Looking back, those photos now seem a little lifeless to me, almost like the place was deserted. Crowds are part of being at Disney, and I love the energy, movement and feel in these photos that makes it seem like you're actually there. Here are a few shots as we walked through the gates and toward the castle.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful Friday! xo

I'm not going to lie... I almost didn't click on this post because I was afraid that I would just be way tooooo jealous of your trip. But I'm glad I got over it ;-) Your photos are awesome and making me so anxious to go back there with my kids someday!!

Wow! Your pictures are amazing! I have never been to Disney, but I can't wait until I get the chance. New York is my 'Disney' right now.

What wonderful photos! I love the feeling they have with all the people in them. Your castle pics are great too . . . of course a bald head right there in the middle would have added a whole new dimension. ;-)

PS (lilacs should be blooming soon!)

Eleventy hundred...hee hee.
Great photos! I have a hard time doing the photo thing in crowds. You make it look easy! And the photos are composed really well. :)

...felt like I was there with you! Whew, don't think this "seasoned mom" could have handle all the footsteps. :) I dropped by to see if you were posting and forget about following along. :( Going to check it out now. We are back to the routine this week too.

I enjoyed your updates on instagram. And these are just stunning! Sounds like such a great time. I'm the only one in my family that cares anything about Disney. We went in 2006 when the boys were 10 and 8. On the way home they said, that was nice, but we'd rather go hiking and canoeing and stuff like that...so we haven't been back. Maybe I'll talk Gary into going with me again one day. In the meantime at least I can enjoy your pics!

I don't know how you did it- but even with all those people in the scene, you made it seem so calm & beautiful! Well done! I'm itching to take the kids back.

How fun! These are great shots! I grew up very close to Disneyland, so on principal I have to like Disneyland better than Disney World! :) But I'll admit Disney World looks pretty cool too! ;)

Welcome back! It looks like you had a fabulous time, and I can so relate to the crowd images. it's impossible in situations like this to be isolated from the crowd, but the crowd is part of the experience so these are absolutely perfect!

There's a part of me that wants to go back right this minute but I think I'll have to wait a few years. Love how you captured the crowds.

So LOVED this post as I'm taking my boys for their first trip to Disney World this summer. We are getting so excited! I have a question for you, how was it carrying your big camera around & what did you do with it when you rode rides/water? Enquring minds want to know ;) I'm sure I have a million other questions I can ask, but I'll just start with those 2 for now. lol Thanks!
