what we've been up to

The alternate title to this post is 'the post where I share a ridiculous number of photos and you're afraid to ever visit me again.' Well I don't want that to happen, so this will make up for me being MIA for 2 weeks... and it will get us through the end of July. Deal?

OK, let's begin with fireworks. We've all seen fireworks shots that blow these away, but I'm sharing just a couple because I took them with my new camera, and I was amazed at its ability to shoot at such a high ISO. Since we didn't go to a big fireworks show, I didn't want to be the dork with a tripod on my driveway. I handheld these shots, and they were taken between an 8,000-12,800 ISO. No noise reduction in post. I was just walking around aiming at the sky. (I'm not knocking tripods, by the way. If we went to a big fireworks production, I would have totally taken my tripod!) :-)

We've also been doing a bit of this...

And a LOT of this.

Are you watching the light changing in these photos? (all taken at the same game) Yes, that happens when double headers last from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. It gets dark.

And then there was the photo session that never got blogged (aka 'the photo session where you'd swear I'd never used a camera before in my life...') Anything I could have done wrong technically, I did! Geez.

Don't blink!! You might miss this rare sighting by brother #2... everyone wave hi to Drew's back! :-)

The whole point of this little trip to the park was for Livia to model the new headband I made her. Stay tuned for a headband re-do.

I have posted (and subsequently deleted) a million more photos for this post, but I'm guessing you're experiencing a bit of an overload. So I will end here. Hope you all have a wonderful week! xo

I'm pretty sure there have been posts with more pictures than this one. :D

AWESOME firework shots! We've been at a LOT of baseball games this summer, too. Three boys in three different leagues. Yep. Lots. ;) Love the set of Collin sliding into the base!

*Waving* Hi Drew's back! :D :D

Okay, TT is getting SO BIG. That second-last shot... she's totally lost the toddler look. Such a beautiful girl. ♥♥

Karli! 8000 ISO?!? Holy Moly! Love these photos! And is it just me, or does Livia have a different look to her face?

YKILYLAS!

The pictures of TT are beautiful!

Totally wanting your new camera now! I get frustrated with ISO issues. I can't believe you hand-held those fireworks shots.

Missed your posts, so keep them coming!

I love all of these! The fireworks. Baseball. TT. :)

I had to chuckle at the baseball photos. We're not playing double headers yet, but I can totally relate to drastically different lighting situations from the beginning of the game to the end. lol.

LOL on Adeena's comment...

Double headers - never had those, but man baseball is LONG... glad my son decided to go back to soccer.

Can't wait to see the headband redo.

Hello it's me! :-) This comment is for Celine - so sorry but your email isn't showing up for me so hopefully you'll check back here. Yes, the Mark III. My mom got it for me a couple months ago. <3

Awww!! So glad to see an update AND Drew's back! Wahoo!

love your fireworks shots! Wondering if your mom would like to adopt me? I'd like a Mark III. I'm so sick of the focusing issue on the Mark II that I've almost thrown it into the ocean a few times.

ROFL! You a dork??? Tripod or no tripod, that is impossible Ms. Karli!

So, I've not been to your blog for a bit, but I was sort of thinking that the reason I come to visit is to see what amazing photos you've recently posted! LOL! You could post multiple pages and I would scroll through each and every one of them. I'm lame, so I could have completely misunderstood your purpose for blogging!!! He, he ... NOT!

I follow a couple of professional photographers and I am known to mention your talent to my better half each time I'm wowed by what I see saying, "Karli has such a natural talent and an incredible eye for taking breathtaking photographs honey! She truly blows the professionals away!" I am not saying that they are not good, they are, however, there is just something about your style that is unique and that beckons me to keep coming back for more! So, please, don't hold back on posting lots of photos on my account! *wink, wink*

I truly do find myself asking how you would see what is on the other side of my viewfinder a la mobile phone screen before snapping. What I am finding is that we are surrounded by so many trees that I find it difficult to snap a photo with much negative space and you've got me hooked on trying to do so! ROFL!

Hi Drew's back and Miss Livia, you are quite the lovely young lady and a most delightful model for your uber-talented Mommy! Touche' for Collin getting his game on, not just once, but twice in one evening!

As always, It is sheer delight to come and gander upon your beautiful family and fabulous captures lovely lady! Have an amazing week and may it be a snap-happy one at that! XOXO

Oh yeah, I am up for adoption too! He, he ... Seriously, I admire your mother for acknowledging her daughter's amazing talent and abilities and for thoughtfully contributing to them by enabling, encouraging and helping her to take it to the next step. Positively enabling I say! :)

You could post a million & I would be just so happy. I could sit here & look for hours. LOVE these!!!!

I have heard about the awesomeness of the ISO on that camera. That is one reason why that is the one I have chosen when my upgrade happens. Though I'm sure it will be years before that happens since I just got this one a year ago.

Hugs my friend- LOVE ya to pieces!

Seriously? 8000-12,000 ISO?! LMAO.. My lame lil' t2i sucks bad at anything over 1600! haha! But hey. I am sure whatever you got costs a pretty penny! So.... WHAT kind of camera did you get!? Do tell!

I would have been happy seeing 50 more photos by the way! Love the sprinkler shot - very summery if there is a word!
