For my get-to-know-me section, I'm going to give you a list of tidbits about me, because you really don't want to read a long essay, right? I like lists. They represent order. And since my life contains little order, lists make me happy.
1. Growing up, I was extremely responsible and prepared for life. Now I'm a completely disorganized mess. (It's because of the Tiny Tornado).
2. I became interested in photography in the fall of 2009. I have no interest in pursuing it professionally; it's just a fun hobby for me.
3. Portrait photography is what I struggle with most, and what is least enjoyable to me. I like subjects that don't make weird faces and try to get away.
4. I'm very sensitive and get my feelings hurt way too easily.
5. I am an extreme over-user of exclamation marks. You might or might not notice this, as I usually go back and delete half of them. I'm not yelling, I'm just really excited! :-)
6. I have phone-phobia. Write me an email, send me a text, but the phone? No thanks!
7. I love to iron. And vacuum. Seriously. (perhaps it's the alone time??)
8. I'm a nutrition fanatic.
9. I always write thank-you notes.
10. I'm not a type A personality. I'm the other one.
11. If you have food in your teeth, I will not tell you. Not because I'm mean; because I don't want to make you uncomfortable.
12. You will find me grocery shopping at Super Target 4 to 5 times a week. Have I mentioned I'm not great at planning ahead? The convenience of one-stop shopping at Super Target makes up for their questionable produce. (Got mold?)
13. I pack the night before a trip.
14. I work best under pressure; otherwise I get too distracted.
15. In my camera bag, you'll find the Canon 5D Mark III, the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II, the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS, the EF 50mm f/1.4, the 580 EX II Speedlite, and two Flex TT5 Pocket Wizards for off-camera flash.
So there you have it! My blog is to serve as a scrapbook for our family, and also a progression of my photography. I will post my successes and my failures, and maybe you can learn from both. I'm just trying to capture some fun memories of the kids God has blessed me with!
