out of hiding

Happy Friday folks! :-) Some of you know that so far I've been a big, fat hider on Instagram. I kept my account private and had no followers. It didn't fit in with the effort to simplify my life. I was just doing it for me; not as a social media type thing. But last night I had a change of heart, so if you'd like to follow me on Instagram, you can find me under "karlibonnie." I'm still going to keep my account private, and just share pictues with my mom-blogger friends. So Sarah, Stacey, Ashley and Courtney...you can find me now - LOL! ;-) If you'd like to follow me on Instagram and I don't click on you to approve, it's because I don't recognize your Instagram name. Just drop me an email and say "hey! It's me!" :-)

AND... in light of the recent egg-throwing, heckling, wedgies and atomic wedgies (where the elastic band of your underwear actually goes over your head) from members of my extended family that are not hip to my iPhone pictures, this post should come as good news to you. I will be sharing FEWER iPhone pics on my blog, and we will resume next week with our regularly scheduled clean, clear, non-iPhone photos. ♥

5 on friday (kc style)

I was so much more excited about my iPhone shots than the ones that I took with my Rebel last weekend. The 5D was not invited on our Kansas City getaway. He had to stay home where he was safe from grimy amusement park hands and soda spills. My new G12 wasn't invited either because.....{gulp}....I think I don't love it as much as I thought. (a story for another day)

I don't know what it is that's so appealing to me about the iPhone lately. Maybe it's the fact that you are so limited in terms of camera settings that you have to rely on creative composition and lighting to make your shot interesting. And you know I love a challenge! :-)

2. The final shot I took as we were leaving Planet Snoopy.


3. One of my favorites from the next morning shopping with the family.


4. This silhouette makes me feel quiet and calm. And you know how quiet and calm is a hot commodity around the Bonnie household.


5. I took this shot as we were leaving our favorite arcade. With all the lights and sounds, Dave and Buster's feels like a G-rated Vegas and the kids love it!


And for those of you that are bummed because you stopped by and don't like iPhone shots, how about a before & after to tickle your fancy.

something a little different

Collin (is the only one of my kids that) LOVES to read my blog, so I often ask his opinion on my pictures. Before posting this, I asked him what he thought of my iphone shots. He said "WOW! That doesn't even look like your photography!" I was like "oh geez! Thank you! That's so sweet!"

And then after a pause... I said "wait, is that a good thing?"

And Collin says "oh yeah, it looks like you've really improved!!" LOL! :-)
