collin, unposed

I took these pictures a couple months ago, and none were deemed blog-worthy. There was some serious backlighting going on, and there was a grey haze in all of them. I kind of pushed them aside and forgot about them.

Lately I've been cleaning up my photo files, and some major deleting has been going on. When I came across these, I thought I'd try black and white on some just for fun. It really helped a lot.

I recently took some posed shots of Collin since he just turned nine, but these are more "real." None would make it on the wall or into a frame, but somehow I just couldn't delete them.

This first one looks most like Collin.

What kind of shots do you like best of your kids, posed or candid? I guess it's not really an either/or. There's a place for both, right? :-) I just thought I'd throw these into the mix.

Hope you all had a great weekend! ♥

I think these are great shot - and they look great in black and white - you could have always sent them to me to see if I could save them. JK...I think you did great. He's a good looking kid...heartbreaker in the making.

Karli - I tend to prefer candid probably just because you get to see more of their personality that way. These are great shots of your son; kind of a mix of posed/candid and they look great in b/w! :)

I am lovin' ALL of that kid ^_^

I say candid mainly cause mine are still young enough I can't get them to sit still for me for posed. :) Love these though, I love seeing the true personality show through...I think that happens more with candids than posed. :)

I love the daydreamer shot the best! Sometimes candids are the best, in this case that is definitely true. I love the black & white.

I think these rocks!!! and can only imagine the sooc...but the black and white are awesome and I could ee them framed.. you are too hard on yourself about the backlighting thing....

He is so adorable! He looks like a thinker!
I'm just happy if they my boys can be still enough for me to get a non-blurry shot of them! I'm not much for posing at all. I think that most of the time candid shots capture the real spirit of the person.

You have a gift for capturing so much personality in your kids' photos. Isn't it funny how some photos are never going to leave our computer, but for whatever reason, we can't delete them or let go of them? Good thing you kept these - they're really great!

I love both... because I like when I have something that is posed to put on my wall. but candid I like too because you see the "real person." I love the silly shot. I haven't been able to delete photos yet. to scared.
