to make it fair...

Remember the candid shots I recently posted of Collin? Well, I must be a slow learner, because they were taken one day after these pictures of Drew. Same lighting issues. Let's hear it for black and white which made them somewhat salvageable.

This boy has the greenest, happiest, most sparkly eyes on the planet. If I hadn't had a run-in with backlighting, you would have gotten to see what a beautiful green they are. (I can say this because my other kids have blue eyes).

A complete goofball, always smiling, always laughing, always messing around, never in a bad mood, never frustrated...he plays our drum set better than the hubs (yes, really), and wins every single board game and every single card game every single time. A lover of art, music, legos and inappropriate body noises.

So lazy he makes me insanely crazy as he calmly calls out "Collin will get it." Forgetful and irresponsible at home, but so incredibly reponsible and organized at school, he was given raving reviews at conference time...to the tune of me wondering if we were in the right room. An incredible reader with a photographic memory that is down-right scary, he wears his pajamas inside out and backwards every single night.

Although it might look like all fun and games, my intention was to get some actual, decent shots this particular evening. Someone was having trouble giving me a normal smile. But we learned that for every action...

...there is an equal and opposite reaction.

This boy makes my heart burst.

He is too cute! Boo, I can't see his green eyes. But since the pictures are so good, I'll forgive you. I always wanted a light eyed child but given my hubby's and my genetics I think we'll have dark brown eyes babes in my house. But now I'm ok w/ that ;)

Oh Karli. I can't imagine loving these more in color; I think the b/w are gorgeous!*

I would love to see a shot of four blue eyes and two green ones though. ;)

Lovely pictures, the b/w are fantastic. I'm going through a bit of a b/w love-affair at the moment and these pictures are stunning.

Karli, these pictures came out wonderfully in b/w, but I think the true awesomeness of this post is your writing. You are a great mother who really knows her kids, and you can really see that through your writing and photography!

Love this series of shots. Really beautiful in black & white. But I know what you mean - my Keegan has the most beautiful, hazel eyes and unless the light is hitting them just right you can't get the full effect. Great captures!

p.s.
green eyes are my favorite!!

Yep! I've noticed those beautiful green eyes before! :) I do love all these in b/w, though! Loved reading all the tidbits about your boy and can only hope that some of his "never frustrated, never in a bad mood" might rub off on Nathan during church hour. As for the love of bodily noises.....he and Nathan can just laugh themselves silly over those as they have *that* trait in common!
